Student writing the matric exam — BISE Karachi BSEK matric result, how to check online and by SMS

If you sat the matric (SSC) exams of the Board of Secondary Education Karachi — BSEK — your result comes from the board itself, and you can check it three ways: on its official website, through its SMS service, or in the result gazette. I've explained each method below so you know exactly what to do the moment BSEK declares the result.

How BSEK announces the matric result

BSEK conducts the SSC exams for Karachi's secondary schools and declares the results group-wise — the Science and General groups are announced through the board's official notifications. When the result comes out, it's uploaded to the board's website, the complete result gazette is issued, and the board announces the position holders at its result ceremony. One warning: any date you see floating around on random websites or forwarded messages before the board's own announcement is just a guess. Wait for BSEK's notification.

Method 1 — Check on the official website (bsek.edu.pk)

  1. Open the board's official website: bsek.edu.pk.
  2. Go to the Results section and choose your examination — SSC Part I or Part II, and your group (Science / General).
  3. Type your roll number exactly as printed on your roll number slip, and submit.
  4. Your marks will appear on screen. Take a screenshot or print the page straight away for your records.

Be ready for one thing: BSEK's website gets hammered in the first few hours after a result announcement. If the page loads slowly or won't open at all, don't sit there refreshing again and again — use the SMS method below, or just wait a bit and try later.

Method 2 — Check by SMS (8583)

BSEK also runs an SMS result facility for its students. Here's how it works:

  1. Open the messaging app on your mobile phone and create a new SMS.
  2. Type your roll number only.
  3. Send it to 8583.
  4. You'll get your result back by SMS shortly. Standard SMS charges of your mobile network apply.

Safety note: 8583 is the code BSEK has published for its SMS result service. If a future board announcement gives a different code or format, follow the latest announcement — and never send your roll number to codes that only circulate through unofficial forwards.

Method 3 — Check through the result gazette

With every result, BSEK issues a complete result gazette with the results of all candidates, available through the board (including on its official website, as notified). The gazette is especially handy if you've lost your roll number — you can search it by your name — or if a school wants to see the results of all its students at once.

After the result: rechecking and next steps

If you feel a paper has been marked incorrectly, BSEK opens a scrutiny / rechecking process after the result, where your paper's marks are re-totalled and checked under the board's rules. The board announces the schedule and fee for scrutiny — apply through the board office within the announced period.

Students who pass SSC Part II move on to college admissions for intermediate (the intermediate stage comes under the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi, BIEK). Keep an eye on the admission announcements of the colleges you want, and keep your BSEK result card and certificates ready — regular candidates get their official marks certificates through their schools.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the official website of Karachi Board for matric results?

It's bsek.edu.pk — the official website of the Board of Secondary Education Karachi. Results appear in its Results section on the day BSEK announces them.

What is the SMS code for the BSEK matric result?

Send your roll number by SMS to 8583 and your BSEK result will come back to your mobile phone — that's the code published in the board's result announcements. Standard network charges apply.

When will the BSEK matric result be announced?

BSEK decides the result date itself and announces it through an official notification for each session. I only publish the date on Pak Edu Point after the board announces it — any date doing the rounds before that is unconfirmed.

I forgot my roll number. Can I check by name?

Yes. Search your name in the official result gazette, or simply ask your school — schools receive the complete result of all their students. If you still need help, the board office can recover your roll number from your registration record.

How can I get my paper rechecked?

After the result, BSEK announces a scrutiny/rechecking schedule. Submit the application with the prescribed fee through the board office within the announced dates. Keep in mind, rechecking only verifies the totalling and that all your questions were marked — it's not a re-examination of your paper.
