If you are aiming for MBBS in a private medical college in Punjab, the clock is running. The University of Health Sciences (UHS) Lahore opened online applications for private-sector MBBS admissions for session 2026-27 on 23 October 2026, and the portal closes on Friday 6 November 2026 at 5:00 pm. The processing fee is Rs 2,000, and you apply centrally through UHS — not to each college separately — for 34 private medical colleges across Punjab.

Why this deadline matters right now

This is not a fresh announcement — the UHS notice came out in the third week of October — but the deadline is now only four days away, and that changes how you should treat it. The portal closes at 5:00 pm sharp on 6 November, and the college preferences you submit become final after that. If you are still deciding between colleges, decide this week, not on the last evening when the portal is at its slowest. A half-finished form on deadline day helps no one.

One more thing worth knowing: this guide covers private MBBS only. Public-sector MBBS applications ran on a separate UHS schedule (they closed on 30 October 2026), and BDS has its own separate portal and timeline. If you want dentistry, do not submit your BDS choices here — that is a different application altogether.

Who can apply — eligibility in plain words

UHS has kept the bar clear, and it matches the provincial admission policy notified on 14 October 2026:

If your MDCAT is below 55 percent, this cycle is not open to you, no matter how strong your FSc is. That cut-off is set by policy, not by the colleges, so there is no appeal route around it through UHS.

How merit is calculated

Your aggregate decides everything — which colleges you can get, and in which selection list your name appears. The formula is the same one used for public colleges:

So a student with 90 percent in Matric, 85 percent in FSc and 80 percent in MDCAT gets an aggregate of 9 + 34 + 40 = 83 percent. MDCAT carries half the weight, which is why two students with identical FSc marks can land in very different colleges. If you want a rough idea of where you stand, compare your aggregate with our UHS MBBS closing merits guide — but remember those figures are for public colleges, and private college merits run lower.

How to apply — step by step

  1. Open the portal. Go to privatembbs.uhs.edu.pk and register with your name, email, CNIC, mobile number and a password.
  2. Complete your profile. Choose Open Merit or Overseas seat, and enter your Matric, FSc and MDCAT marks exactly as they appear on your documents.
  3. Upload your documents. Clear scans in PNG or JPG, each under 500 KB: attested Matric and HSSC certificates, domicile certificate, your CNIC or B-Form, and the CNIC of your father, mother or guardian. Foreign qualifications need an IBCC equivalence certificate.
  4. Rank your colleges. Pick at least one college — there is no upper limit — in the order you actually prefer them. You can edit the list until the deadline, but after 6 November at 5:00 pm the number and order of colleges become final. You will not be considered for any college that is not on your list.
  5. Pay the Rs 2,000 fee. Generate the challan on the portal and pay it at a Bank of Punjab or National Bank of Pakistan branch, or through the 1Bill invoice option. Do not use the 1Bill top-up option — UHS specifically warns against it. Upload the paid challan or receipt on the portal and keep the original safe until the final list.
  6. Print, check, submit. Print the form, read every line once, and submit before 5:00 pm on 6 November. A wrong CNIC digit or a swapped college order is much harder to fix after submission.

Important: College tuition fees are not in the UHS notice — they differ from college to college. Before you rank a college, check its fee directly from the college or its official page. The Rs 2,000 is only the UHS processing fee; it is not tuition, and it is not refunded if you do not get a seat.

What happens after 6 November

Once applications close, UHS publishes the merit order and then the selection lists on the same portal:

UHS notes that this schedule is subject to any directive from the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC) or the Punjab government, so a list date can move. Check the UHS website in the days around each list date rather than trusting a forwarded screenshot.

Two colleges with a court-order note

The UHS notice lists 34 colleges, and two of them carry a special note worth reading before you rank them. RYK Medical and Dental College, Rahim Yar Khan, is allowed provisionally under a court order dated 30 September 2026, and Watim Medical College, Rawalpindi, is allowed for 2026-27 under a court order dated 14 October 2026. Both are subject to PM&DC approval. That does not mean you should avoid them — but do ask the college what the order means for your admission and degree before placing it high on your preference list.

Dates, fee, eligibility, merit formula, portal and court-order notes verified from the UHS notice as read on the UHS website on 22 October 2026 and reported by Daily Pakistan (22 October 2026) and Pakera (24 October 2026); UHS website: uhs.edu.pk, application portal: privatembbs.uhs.edu.pk.
